Rules for Courtroom Appearances

    • All cell phones, beepers, pagers, and other electronic devices must be turned off before entering the courtroom.
    • Except for law enforcement and court personnel, no weapons of any kind are allowed in the courtroom.
    • No food or drink is allowed in the courtroom with the exception of bottled water.
    • Tobacco products may not be used in the courtroom.
    • No foul or profane language will be tolerated in the courtroom.
    • No one who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs is permitted in the courtroom.
    • Proper attire and conduct are required at all times. None of the following are allowed in the courtroom:
      • No shorts, tank tops, halter tops, muscle or undershirts, or tattered or torn clothing.
      • No clothing, including hats and bags, that display indecent, obscene, or profane words or language, graphics, or illustrations or gang related insignias.
    • Shoes are required.
    • Hats must be removed.
    • Sit quietly in the courtroom until you are called to the judge's bench.
    • When speaking to the judge, you may not lean on the judge's bench.
    • Small children must sit quietly or be removed from the courtroom.
