TELEPHONE SCAM ALERT!

Fraud Alert

The City of Fredericksburg has been made aware of fraudulent phone calls being made to City utility customers, threatening to turn off their electricity if payment is not made within a certain time frame via wire transfer from Walgreens or Easywire. 

 

The City of Fredericksburg only accepts in-person payments in the form of cash, check, or credit card. Payments of cash or check can also be made in the payment drop box location. Checks can be sent in the mail.

 

Utility customers that receive these calls should report them to the Fredericksburg Police Department at (830)997-7585 and the City of Fredericksburg Utility Billing Department at (830)997-7521.
