![]() From the City Manager...
A statement read by Mayor Musselman at the conclusion of Monday night’s meeting: The City Council is troubled to learn of the filing of the delinquent tax lawsuit against Councilmember Tommy Segner, and hopes that the case is resolved in a timely manner. The Council does not minimize the filing of the suit, and does not condone the actions alleged in the suit. However, aCouncilmember maintains eligibility to serve on the Council unless he or she loses eligibility by moving out of the City limits, being indebted to the City, missing a number of meetings or not being a qualified voter (for example, being a convicted felon without pardon), and cannot be removed except by recall election. The City Council wants the community and those who work for the City to know that the Council as a whole has the best interests of the City in mind, and will continue to do its best to uphold Fredericksburg's excellence and its reputation as a well run city and a wonderful place to live. | ||
