Graham Pearson I was born and raised in the north-east of England, attending Nottingham University before immigrating to the USA in 1976. I became a US Citizen in 1984 and, after working in West Virginia and Houston, my wife Renée and I moved to Fredericksburg in 1998. Living in Fredericksburg is a heart-warming experience. Everyone has been very welcoming and I am proud of our City’s rich cultural and historical heritage. Wanting to preserve this heritage and to be involved with the careful planning of its future, I decided to take an interest in local politics in 2004. By 2009, I felt it was time to step up to the plate and serve on City Council, although it took another year for me to convince sufficient voters that I am worth the risk. I am now a very enthusiastic first-time Council member. I try to balance a rigorous scientific approach to business issues with a creative talent for problem-solving. I am always willing to listen and I approach new issues with a lack of bias. I am a member of the Fredericksburg Morning Rotary, the Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance, Gillespie County Republicans, and the Bethany Lutheran praise team. My spare time passion is music. I play in a local dance band and for the past 8 years I’ve helped organize “The Beat Goes On”, an annual event featuring local musicians who give their time and talent in support of Relay for Life. |
