| | As per the Home Rule Charter, adopted by the citizens of Fredericksburg in 1991, the City Council appoints a City Manager who is the chief administrative officer of the City and is responsible to the City Council for the administration of all the affairs of the City. Gary Neffendorf Gary Neffendorf was selected by the City Council of Fredericksburg, Texas to hold the office of City Manager, the City's Chief Administration Office. He began his career with the City in 1973 as the City's Accountant. In 1975 was named Director of Finance. In 1981 he was also named City Clerk. He served in that capacity until 1988 when he was named City Administrator. The citizens of Fredericksburg voted in 1991 to become a Home Rule City, and Gary was named the City of Fredericksburg's first City Manager. Gary holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas. Gary and his wife Jenny have a daughter Melissa and two sons, Marshall and Jordan. |  |
