Street Department ~ (830) 997-5665 Superintendent - Mike Klein Assistant Superintendent - Glen Koennecke
Street PatchingThe Street Department is responsible for the maintenance of approximately 70 miles of city streets. The state and federal highways as well as the Ranch Roads are maintained by the Texas Department of Transportation (TX Dot). This maintenance includes patching potholes within city limits. If you see a hole please call it in and we will fix it as soon as possible. Street SweepingThe Street Department is responsible for keeping the streets swept and clean. However, some streets are within city boundaries but are not annexed. If this is the case, the street is private and we will not sweep it. We would be glad to answer any questions about specific areas. No specific schedule is set for sweeping the city. We sweep by areas and not by blocks. If we should happen to miss your side of the street, the sweepers will be back. The Street Department will sweep every area to ensure that all sand and debris is picked up. Leaf CollectionThe Street Department collects leaves annually from November to January. Just place leaves about one foot in front of the curb, and the Street Department will come by at least once a week to collect them. Oak leaves are collected during a two week period in the spring; watch this site for more information. Please be sure that you place only leaves, as limbs, rocks, bricks, etc damage the collection equipment. Frequently Asked Questions
