Kent Myers was born in Aruba, Netherlands Antilles and grew up in Fort Worth. He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Texas Christian University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at Arlington. Mr. Myers has over 30 years of city management experience including serving for seven years as the first City Manager of Converse, Texas. He has also served as the City Manager in Casa Grande, Arizona, a major commercial and industrial area south of Phoenix. In addition, he served as the City Manager in Hot Springs Arkansas and Port Angeles, Washington. Mr. Myers began his employment as City Manager in Fredericksburg in May, 2012.
Mr. Myers has a history of active involvement in a number of civic and professional organizations including Rotary Club, Chambers of Commerce, State Municipal Leagues, and the International City Management Association. He is married to Dianne and together they have four sons who reside in Texas, Arkansas and Washington. They enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including hiking and biking. They also enjoy their pets including Oliver and Riley, their King Charles Cavalier puppies.
