The CITY OF FREDERICKSBURG is accepting applications for Assistant City Engineer. The Assistant will participate in and oversee a variety of civil engineering design and review work. Ideal qualifications include civil construction plan design and review experience. Candidate must possess AutoCAD design experience with LDD or Civil 3D. Design experience should include roadway design, water and sewer design, plan and profile sheets and production of construction staking plans. Must have knowledge of drainage and hydraulics. An Engineering degree from an ABET accredited college or university is required. Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Texas is required. Review of:
- Site Plans - Preliminary Plats - Final Plats - Single Family Construction Plans - Multi-Family Construction Plans - Commercial Construction Plans - Public Works Plans – including but not limited to, water and sewer plans and profiles, roadway design, drainage design and calculations, electric transmission layout and routing
Design of:
- General Civil Projects - Water and Sewer Plan and Profile - Roadway Plan and Profile - Electric Plan layout and routing - Drainage Area Calculation, Routing, and Channel and Structure Design
General Duties
- Interface with the Development Services Division to provide their plan review. - Interface with Public Works Engineering Consultants. - Interface with other public agencies - Attend Public meetings as required. - Review and inspection of projects under construction. - Review and production of Bid and Contract Documents - Provide written correspondence and direction to consultants, developers and other departments. - Prepare project feasibilities and cost analysis to schedule and rank CIP projects.
Job Education and Experience Requirements Civil construction plan design and review experience. Strong background in plan submittal and development process and/or review experience. AutoCAD design experience with LDD or Civil 3D. Valid Texas Driver License Engineering degree from an ABET accredited college or university.
