Common Garbage Collection Violations

Common Garbage Collection Violations include the following:


  • No person shall use or cause to be used or place or cause to be placed for collection by city collectors any bulk garbage container that is so overloaded that the lid will not fit securely thereon, as to prevent spillage or airborne loss of its contents and the entry of animals, vectors or elements of nature, nor shall any person use, cause to be used, or place or cause to be placed for collection by city collectors any bulk garbage container that is so deteriorated to the extent of endangering collectors or to the extent that the lid will not fit securely or the contents are otherwise not effectively contained therein.
  • Each bulk garbage container that is placed on the street curb or edge of the street pavement for garbage collection shall be placed there no later than 7:00 a.m. the morning of collection, and shall not be allowed to remain at curbside for an unreasonable length of time, not to exceed 24 hours.
