Council Member Polly Rickert
Polly is a native Texan, born in Corpus Christi. After earning her American Advanced Placement Diploma from the American School in Switzerland, Athens Greece campus, she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor's degree in International Business and a degree in Finance.
She joined Oiltex, Inc. in Austin, Texas as a Controller upon graduation, then moved to Ernst & Young and CapGemini as a management consultant from 1986 to 2005. She acquired Dogologie in 2011 and currently owns and manages multiple companies under the Dogologie brand.
Although she has traveled extensively, her choice of home was based on her husband, Curt Rickert, and his career as a physical therapist. They lived in San Antonio, Boerne, and Kerrville, before moving to Fredericksburg in 2014. In both San Antonio and Kerrville, she was involved in volunteer civic activities, including the San Antonio Symphony League and the Kerrville Economic Investment Board.
Polly and Curt moved to Fredericksburg from Kerrville in 2014. She participated in the most recent Community Visioning process, and then was appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Polly also co-founded and is currently Chairman of Haus Verein, a non profit organization focused on increasing the supply of homes for middle income working families in Fredericksburg.
Polly brings her decades of experience in management consulting, business development and business management to the City Council.
