As a fifth generation Fredericksburger, Charlie knows and loves this community. But what he loves even more is the seventh generation of Kiehnes in Fredericksburg- his grandchildren. It was this love of family, love of town, and a desire to serve by helping guide Fredericksburg through this time of rapid growth that motivated Charlie to run for City Council.
Over the past 40 years, Charlie has actively participated in Fredericksburg's business community, owning and operating Kiehne's Exxon (across from the Nimitz) for 24 years before becoming a REALTOR® and associate broker, a profession he enjoys today. Charlie has served in various civic leadership roles, including as a member of the FISD school board for 11 years and a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission. He completed the Gillespie County Chamber of Commerce Leadership program and has volunteered for various events and organizations, including as a mentor for FISD students for the past 10 years.
Charlie has been married to Jeanne Kiehne (nee Scharnhorst) since 1974. Charlie and Jeanne have three grown children and six grandchildren. In his free time, Charlie enjoys playing with his grandchildren, ranching, and hunting.
