Fort Martin Scott is located East of Fredericksburg on U.S. 290 (East Main Street) on the north side of the street between the Texas Rangers Heritage Center and the Fredericksburg Water Treatment Plant.  The physical address is 1606 E.Main St., Fredericksburg, TX 78624

The entryway to Fort Martin Scott is just east of the Welcome to Frederickburg sign and across from the Law Enforcement Center.

Fort Martin Scott is open to the public Thursday thru Monday 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The site is closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

Upon entering the fort site, parking is available in the paved area to the left. Free Parking is also available next door at the Texas Rangers Heritage Center. There is no charge for parking in either lot.
NOTE: The Ranger Center closes promptly at 5:00 pm each day.

Admission to Fort Martin Scott is free. Donations are gladly accepted to help keep the doors open!

Tickets may be required for entry to the site during special events, during which times tickets are available for sale on-site during events.  The site can be reserved for public or private events.  

The Fort Martin Scott visitor Center is located in the recently remodeled Barracks Building, which is open Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., during which times the Fort buildings are open to the public. On other days the Fort is available for self-guided touring, during which times the Fort buildings are closed to the public.  Guided tours are available by appointment only.  Please contact the Site Manager at 830-307-8715 to schedule a tour.  A fee is required for guided tours.

Fort Martin Scott is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a State Antiquities Landmark. As such we ask our visitors to respect our historical, cultural and natural resources by remaining on the trails and not disturbing or removing any objects. Pets on leash are welcome.
