The Fredericksburg City Council has established the Fredericksburg Police Foundation Fund at the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country. This new fund accepts charitable donations that benefit the Fredericksburg Police Department. All donations to the fund are tax-deductible.
The Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charitable foundation, serves a 10-county region, including Gillespie County. In 2023, the Foundation granted $2.4 million to Gillespie County nonprofits and civic organizations. The Foundation also awards scholarships to students from Harper, Heritage, and Fredericksburg high schools. "We're thrilled to help Chief Vorauer build local philanthropic support for the police department," said Austin Dickson, CEO of the Foundation.
