Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park Campground

To ensure the safety of visitors and staff the following changes have been made to park operations:

1. The RV Park is no longer accepting new, incoming reservations beginning April 2, 2020 through May 4, 2020. Current reservation holders are being contacted to receive a refund.

2. All restrooms in the RV Park are closed.

3. We are no longer accepting any tent campers/primitive tent camping until further notice.

4. We are no longer offering showers to the general public until further notice.

5. We are no longer selling ice until further notice.

Thank you for your patience during this time.

March 23, 2020  

-All public park restrooms except the small restrooms at Marktplatz on Adams St. and the three restrooms in the RV area are closed. 
-All playgrounds are closed. 
-Trails will remain open including those at LBJ Park, Fort Martin Scott and Cross Mountain Park. 
-The Tatsch House, Pioneer Pavilion, Festroom and Kitchen at Marktplatz, and Fort Martin Scott buildings are closed. The Fort Martin Scott trail and grounds will remain open. 
-No new reservations will be taken for the open pavilions or ballfields at this time.
-At facilities that remain open there must be social distancing and no groups larger then 10 people.  This includes facilities such as the new basketball pavilion, skate park and tennis courts.
-Staff will monitor the facilities to see if the 10 and under guideline is being followed. 
-We will continue to take new RV reservations.

The declaration signed on March 19th by Mayor Linda Langerhans, Section 6, prohibits any Community Gathering in the City of Fredericksburg. For the purposes of Section 6, a "Community Gathering" is defined as a scheduled indoor event or scheduled outdoor event, that brings together or is likely to bring together ten (10) or more persons in a common space, room, or area, including but not limited to conferences, festivals, parades, special events, concerts and sporting events. For the purposes of this Section 6, a "Community Gathering" does not include regular attendance at public or private schools, public or private colleges and universities, and daycare centers.

Park Headquarters is not accepting reservations in person. The RV Park is still open at this time but all reservations must be made over the phone or online. The link to online reservations is:

Park Headquarters will be closing at 5:00 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays at this time. We are not accepting reservations for any park pavilions, buildings or athletic fields through May 15th. Reservations made after May 15th could be canceled so consider that when making your reservations online. The link to make reservations online for park pavilions and indoor facilities is:

Parks staff have increased cleaning and disinfecting at the restroom facilities but due to theft of supplies some restrooms may have to be locked down.

Park Headquarters will not be accepting reservation in person. The RV Park is still open at this time but all reservations must be made over the phone or online. The link for online reservations is

We are not accepting reservations for any park facilities through May 15th . Any current reservations with more than 50 people on City property have also been cancelled. As long as the park stays open, pavilions may be used on a first come, first serve basis for groups of less than 50. Reservations made after May 15th could also be cancelled so consider that when making your online reservation at We will continue to follow the CDC recommendations for public gatherings.

In addition, all water fountains will be turned off in city parks for the time being.

RV Park
Currently our Park is under construction as we upgrade our Utilities. Thank you for your understanding and patience of the uneven surfaces and the work crews.

3 miles south of downtown Fredericksburg off of Hwy. 16 S. at the gates of Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park.
  • This beautiful RV Park features 98 RV Spaces with 30 and 50 amp electrical hook-ups, water sewer and cable TV. Wireless Internet is provided free of charge.
  • Pets are welcome. They must be on a leash at all times and picked up after immediately.

    • Per month $450 (valid September 1 through March 31 only)

Important details for reservations:

  • Reservations must be paid in full at the time of reservation. For reservations longer than one week, please call to reserve. 
  • Credit cards accepted are Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
  • Reservations can be made 12 months in advance.
  • Cancellations made 3 days prior to arrival will receive a full refund minus the reservation fee and cancellation fee of $3.50. Cancellations made within a day or two of arrival will be charged the first night payment plus the cancellation fee. Cancellations can be made online or by calling our office. For reservations paid via cash or check, refunds will be mailed in the form of a check within 30 days

Primitive Tent Camping

Adjacent to the Park Headquarters office is a five acre primitive tent camping field.

  • Tent camping is $10 per night per tent. We do not take reservations for tent camping.
  • Tent camping is limited to fourteen consecutive nights within a 6 month period.
  • Sleeping in vehicles is prohibited.
  • No ground fires.
  • Ice for sale, $3 for a 10 lb. bag
