Fredericksburg, Texas – The City of Fredericksburg recently hired Sibyl Deckard as its Staff Engineer and Sean Doerre as Public Information Officer (PIO), while promoting Shelby Collier to Senior Planner in its Development Services Department.
In her role, Deckard works with the Director of Public Works, the Assistant City Engineer and various Public Works Departments on in-house projects. She collaborates with Development Services staff to verify proposed developments are compliant with ordinances, while also keeping the city’s GIS mapping database current by cataloguing public infrastructure.
Deckard joined the organization in February, after spending four years with a San Antonio consulting firm. She is a 2019 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Civil Engineering and resides in Sisterdale with her husband, Lee.
Doerre, started his PIO work in March, after working at the Fredericksburg Convention and Visitor Bureau for six years. He is the city’s main point of contact for all media inquiries, while also helping to maintain the organization’s website and social media. Doerre works to increase community engagement by sharing information through multiple channels.
A 2007 graduate of Fredericksburg High School and a 2011 graduate of Baylor University with a degree in Journalism, Doerre lives in Fredericksburg with his wife Traci and their two children.
Collier has been with the City for eight years, starting as a receptionist and then receiving promotions to Development Coordinator and then Associate Planner. She began her new role as Senior Planner in February and is responsible for Site Plan and Plat review, implementation and interpretation of city ordinances and will serve as staff liaison to the Planning & Zoning Commission and Historic Review Board.
Collier’s husband Charles works for the City’s Electric Department, and they have a nine-year-old daughter, Bebe.
