Fredericksburg, Texas – With the lingering impacts of Winter Storm Fern still affecting much of the Texas Hill Country, City of Fredericksburg buildings, facilities and offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26.
Since the area remains in an Extreme Cold Warning through noon on Monday and with accumulations of snow and ice on roadways, officials have made the decision to close the following: City Hall, Animal Shelter, Gillespie County Health Division, Law Enforcement Offices, Municipal Court, Recycling Center and Sanitary Landfill.
Emergency personnel and Public Works crews will continue to be available throughout the duration of the event to respond as needs arise. Trash pickup will continue for those with a Monday collection day, although the timing may be delayed until travel is deemed safe.
Citizens are encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel and to use extreme caution if driving, especially on bridges and overpasses.
