‘Countdown to 2026’ Event Details

Fredericksburg, Texas –The City of Fredericksburg will host ‘Countdown to 2026’ – a free family-friendly event to ring in the New Year in downtown Fredericksburg on Wednesday, Dec. 31 from 3-6:30 p.m. 

Taking place at Marktplatz, the free New Year’s Eve celebration will feature lots of entertainment, including inflatables, trackless train, and Monster Mural sponsored by the Optimist Club of Fredericksburg, face painting sponsored by Security State Bank & Trust, DJ and music provided by HCTC, 360-degree photo booth sponsored by Methodist Hospital Hill Country, dance performances by Relevé Dance Studio, Jurassic S.A. Dinosaur Encounter, roaming entertainers, games and a magic show.

The ‘Countdown to 2026’ will conclude with a video presentation and ball drop on the town’s square. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the event.

For those that cannot attend in person, ‘Countdown to 2026’ will be livestreamed on YouTube by FBG.Live beginning at 5:30 p.m. 

Eisbahn, Marktplatz’s ice skating rink, will also be open on that Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. (fee required).
