Kid Fish Event Taking Place January 10

Parks & Recreation News Posted on December 01, 2025

Fredericksburg, Texas – The City of Fredericksburg Parks and Recreation Department will host Kid Fish Day on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026 from 9 a.m. to noon inside Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park.

Live Oak Creek, north of the bridge to the golf course, will be stocked with rainbow trout for the event. Kid Fish Day is free and open to the public.

It includes a self-guided casting practice station and rainbow trout fishing. To give the trout time to acclimate to the water, City staff ask that the area is not fished until the day of the event.

There will be fishing poles, bait and tackle available to use, but participants can bring their own fishing pole as well. Angler education bags will be provided at Pavilion #4 while supplies last.

Anyone over the age of 17 must have a valid fishing license. For more information on licensing, please visit Texas Parks & Wildlife Department’s website at https://tpwd.texas.gov/.

For questions, please call Park Headquarters at (830) 997-4202.
